Founded in 2013, KULTUR ROCKT takes place in Sundern-Dörnholthausen and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia. Patron of the festival is district administrator Dr. Karl Schneider.
The program is as diverse as top-class and ranges from music (rock/pop, reggae, soul to classic) through literature, theatre and fine art up to delicious dishes.
In 2014, the festival was awarded by the then Federal President Joachim Gauck.
